The Palm Coast Report 03-14-10
This is some wacky weather were having this year, the rain and wind has kept me off the water but when the winds lay down the fish start chewing. Huge schools of redfish can be seen patrolling the flats looking to devour any small mullet or minnows that get in there way. Best artificial lures working now are the all new Exude Mr. Shad hooked on a Daiichi But Dragger hook swam slowly around the schools. My other go to lure when the reds have just shut down and won’t bite has been the Sebile Stick Shadd in Hollow Mullet. Something about this lure has been making the reds explode on this lure when no others would work.
The Black drum bite has been insane the last few weeks with big schools roaming the shallows and picking up fresh dead shrimp on a Slayer Inc. Destroyer jighead or Daiichi circle hook and bb split shot combo.
